There's a timeline there and historical facts. If you look at all of the pandemics in history and research every organism causing those pandemics the epidemiology and the major mode of transmission is all worked out. The actual quotes states respiratory viruses was unprecedented in the historical record as causing asymptomatic infections pushing the pandemics. .
The historical record is irrelevant when you have data on the current virus, and Fauxi had data early on - long before the spike in the US - that there was asymptomatic spread. Yet for the next several months he continued to recommend against masks then later tried to explain it away that the asymptomatic spread was not known. That's not even a flip flop, it's a blatant lie.
On January 28, 2020 the total number of known cases outside China was 70, with 5 in the US. He is vilified for waiting until a study is published (two days later) to announce confirmation of asymptomatic spread (one day after that).
From day 1 he has tried to stir the pot, popping into media interviews to make vague statements to alarm people and contradict what was previously said. He would make implications the admin (Trump) was not doing it right then the next day say Trump was following every recommendation they made. He's been wrong every step of the way and his words are always crafted to absolve himself of any blame.
His positions on when and what businesses can re-open shifted daily, his position on wearing masks flip flops, his position on vaccinations for the recovered are not based on the science, his position on kids getting vaccinated is at odds with WHO. He feigned ignorance about what grant money was being used for, he lied about gain of function research. His released emails show what he was saying publicly were different that what he was saying privately. The guy oughta be in jail.

So where were you on the Trump bashing? Trump issued the travel ban to China on Jan 28, formed the coronavirus panel with Dr. Birx the next day, and on Jan 31 declared a national health emergency. Media statements aside, every single ACTION was to do everything his experts said should be done.
1. The vaccines are not 100% effective - no vaccines are. But these are very, very good, even against the variants emerging.
2. Being vaccinated does not mean you cannot carry the virus and spread it to others who are not able to get vaccinated (age, medical conditions, etc.)
#2 -it is an odd virus that attacks people with co-morbidities differently. I've heard of very obese unvaxxed people get it and recover. While the rare someone who is pretty healthy who never gets sick is vaxxed (or not) have serious symptoms when they contract it.
From what I hear from general md's, nurses and holistic practitioners is there needs to be a longer term study. If they are concerned I am too. I lean holistic.
