What will Covid-19 be like this coming fall and winter in terms of illness, hospitalizations, and deaths?

Here’s my opinion, based on what I’ve been reading—areas with low vaccination rates will see increased diagnosis, hospitalizations and deaths. If you’re fully vaccinated you’ll be fine, but we’ll all need boosters. Boosters will be modified to address the current variant.

The vax-rate should be very high.......so in theory, all covid-related problems will
be way down.

COVID isn't going anywhere. It will be around just like the flu.

Singapore is going to treat it like the flu and stop counting cases and deaths.

Singapore wants to stop counting Covid cases. Its roadmap could be a model for other countries

Quote:
s countries around the Asia-Pacific region tighten restrictions once again to curb potential breakouts of the Delta coronavirus variant, Singapore has laid out a new vision for life to return to normal.

The roadmap, proposed by three members of Singapore's Covid-19 task force, would scrap lockdowns and mass contact tracing and allow for a return to quarantine-free travel and the resumption of large gatherings. It would even stop counting the daily Covid cases.

But this "zero transmission" model, which requires stringent, often punishing quarantine measures, will be almost impossible to maintain as new variants spread, and long term is simply not sustainable, the task force members claim. Instead, they say living with Covid can be done.

The plan would be to accomplish this by having VERY high vaccination rates.

I think it will be like a flu shot, but as flu shots only cover so many types, so will a booster Covid shot. I don't know, just guessing.

Singapore is an island country with a population smaller than NY City. What works there isn't going to work in most countries.

This is what I foresee. And I'm just guessing too.

I'll get a booster if necessary.
