I have several friends, some younger, some older than me, on various medications. They all seem to have side effects and most seem to cause some level of fatigue, though the fatigue could also be a symptom of whatever ails them. I'm not judging them - just grateful I don't have to deal with that.
.
I think in most cases its a function of the fatigue being caused by the condition, though there are some that the meds cause fatigue. My grandfather was on a fair few of them but didn't seem to "slow down" in the sense of losing energy til his mid 80's, and even then it only became really noticeable the last three years or so. But there, it was depression as much as anything after Grandma passed away.
Yeah, I psoriatic RA, and a low thyroid, and fibro, all treated, but you can never totally erase the symptoms.
I am tired, a LOT, but I still plow through and keep busy, I still do an hour of cardio, walk the dog for a mile, etc. If I don't? I'll feel worse physically, and not getting stuff done, I would feel worse mentally.
While sometimes I get whiny about it, for the most part I accept the "new" me, and carry on.
