That might be true. I probably drink 3 glasses of water in the evening before I go to bed and I sleep great, 8-9 hours a night. Yes I get up a couple of times but go right back to sleep.

I have taken to drinking water and/or hot sleepy time tea before bed. While I do usually get up at some point during the night it's normally because our dog is shifting positions in our bed and wakes me up.

It's important to stay hydrated. In the morning I feel good and well rested.

I used to be able to drink Sleepytime Tea, loved it for many years, but I developed a sensitivity to it. It started giving me dry mouth and scratchy throat. Go figure.

I always drink 16 oz of water in the morning before drinking coffee. I'm a morning person so even if I get a lousy night's sleep I bounce back quickly but then often need an afternoon nap, though I never did until a couple years ago.

Interesting Kara that you can drink 2-3 glasses before bed and then go right back to sleep. I used to be that way. I think the water helps with getting right back to sleep meaning you body is probably adequately hydrated.

Oh great, and I am going to have to get up to get rid of that water how many times during the night, when I should be sleeping?

I think the idea is that it actually gives you better sleep, because you're adequately hydrated, and when you get up to go, you get right back to sleep.

I'm giving it a week or two while switching over to more water before bed... I was up for a couple hours reading this early a.m. but I imagine that will smooth out, as KaraG said above "going right back to sleep."
