Ive been dealing with this intense itch for awhile now, its causing me to get only about 4 hours of sleep at night, it seems like the more I itch it, the MORE itchy it becomes!

Ive tried all sorts of anti fungal OTC, baby powder to keep it dry, even bleach to kill the germ/bacteria, but the itching never subsides.

And lately, its not only the groin area between my legs, penis is also extremely itchy, from what Ive seen online, these symptoms do not suggest Jock itch, but rather Psoriasis, Lichen Planus or Pinworm.

The only time I get any relief is right after my shower, for about 4-5 hours, Im also using soap made for very sensitive skin, although Ive tried all kinds of anti bacterial soap too without any luck. I use Ivory or Dove now.

If it isn't responding to antifungals, it probably isn't jock itch.

Switch to unscented laundry soap, and skip the dryer sheets and fabric softener. There are lots of allergens in those fragrances.

Ivory soap is very drying, perhaps it's dry skin. Try glycerine soap without scents or colors. And of course try a good lotion/moisturizer.

You might try anti-itch creams like Benedryl or Hydrocortisone, or take a Benedryl tablet at bedtime.

Or it could be a yeast infection. What did your doctor suggest it is, when you asked?

Also try coconut oil since Tinactin did nothing.
(And never use bar soap.) Let us know.

Scratching an itch makes it worse! If nothing has convinced you how true that is before now, this might be of interest:

Well, technically, a yeast infection IS fungal (Candida sp), but they can be resistant to some anti-fungal meds.

I'd never use Ivory soap on itchy skin!

I can't/don't use Ivory or Dove!! Not sure why the OP hasn't seen a doctor.

It would be easier for us to help if we had a picture or two.

Or, just go to Dr

Tea tree oil soap changed my life. Sometimes hard to find, but Sally’s, Walmart, and Whole Foods are places I have been able to find it. Apparently surfactants found in almost all commercially available bar soaps and shampoos are the source for the itching groins which some of us suffer from. Tea tree oil soap apparently does not contain surfactants.
