The only thing that has worked for me is Systane Ultra. Other eye drops offer immediate relief but seem to exacerbate the problem they are treating. It's OTC and one of the more expensive eye drops, but the multi pack at Costco is more affordable.

I also found that any amount of alcohol, even a glass of wine with dinner, will cause me to have dry eyes at night hours later.

As I still have been unable to see an eye doctor, I started taking an allergy pill and the allergy eye drops religiously, it seems to have help. I've also upped my fish oil.

I don't look like I've smoking weed at the moment, so it's a win so far.

I'd like to try Xiidra, Restasis takes months to see (haha) results and this is supposed to be faster.

Regarding the cost of Restasis, the effective drug is generic and has been used for other reasons since the 1980's. When my dog needed it for dry eye, the vet knew I wouldn't be able to afford it so called the eyedrop "recipe" into a compounding pharmacy and the cost was insignificant.

Also:

How effective is Restasis (cyclosporine) for dry eyes?

In clinical trials, 15% of people who used Restasis (cyclosporine) had more tear production. Restasis (cyclosporine) might not work for everyone, especially if you're also taking a topical anti-inflammatory medication or are using punctual plugs (tiny device in the eyes to help keep them moist).
