it became so strong that i could not continue working. i had to stop everything to rush to a break room and sit in a couch. i was out cold for over 20 minutes. for the rest of the day i was back to normal.
what caused this? sometimes during the day i feel a slight sleepiness that does not affect me

Go see a Dr. How can we help. It could be anything from just being tires, a stroke, drugs (legal or illegal), heart issues narcolepsy https://wakix.com/living-with-narcol...xoCMwgQAvD_BwE

You need to see a doctor. There are so many things it could be, some of them possibly serious and requiring treatment. Or, it could be no big deal. But you won't know until you work it out with a doctor.

LOL, has anyone posting here ever tried to get a diagnosis for "tired" or pretty much anything else that isn't an infection or injury? But if we're going to think like a doctor, think horses not zebras when you hear hoofbeats. OP, you've probably had too little sleep too many nights in a row, or had too many carbs for lunch, making your blood sugar quickly fall a few hours after lunch.

Definitely this! What if you collapse while driving? You can kill someone or yourself.

I agree with seeing your doctor. This has happened to me twice. First, it was because the blood pressure med I was on at the time was on. Changing the med helped. Last year, I couldn't sleep well and my doctor and I was getting drowsy in the afternoons. He felt I might have a mild form of sleep apnea. Since this was during the pandemic, the sleep centers were closed so he put me on a low dosage of a med to help me sleep better. It was a life changer.
Regardless, it's best to see a doctor. It could be a variety of things. Go sooner rather than later and get your life back.

Get checked out. I have heard of this being a sign of an impending heart attack.

Until the next episode. If you haven't made any changes there probably will be another one. Hopefully the questions people asked you and the suggestions they offered helped you clarify what actually happened for yourself. You never did explain whether you actually passed out (as in unconscious) or were just feeling more sleepy than usual and needed a nap.

Did OP actually collapse? (that would be a 911 situation) or is it just fatigue? Which they need to investigate.

Yeah, that is important and concerning. A boss of mine used to go running every night. He mentioned to another coworker that a couple of times he was so tired when he got home that he fell asleep and it was almost like he passed out.
Then his wife called the office one morning to tell us that she found him dead on the living room floor the night before after he'd come back from his run.
