I'm going to assume she is older? Obviously not well from the number of medications, and not self motivated to prevent further heart damage.

This may sound... bad? But if she is elderly, why not let her live out her final days how she wants? You could put her in a home where they will ensure she stays alive, but is that a life?

I'm sorry! I forgot to ask. The FDA is pretty strict about off label use but it does happen.

My latest echo shows a decrease in EF and further regurgitation in the mitral valve. Sounds like an OR has my name on it again in a year or two.

If you're on C-D at the age of 89, you must be doing something right. Props to you my friend.

They are being seen weekly by cardiologist. Has blood work done weekly.
Back in the early 90s, I worked for a man whose 85-year-old mother had a series of heart attacks that reduced her heart function to 15%. She was not expected to live very long. She lived to be 97.

I am sure that her heart functions improved from 15% and I wish that I could offer insights on how she lived so long, but know that not all hope is lost.
