There's no subheading to address this subject (menstruation, gynocology, obstetrics, menopause, etc.)?

I'm surprised!

I'd bet that a significant number of the women on this board are old enough to be "uninterested" in these topics.

I'm a woman in my early 50s and I feel like a young thing around here.

Same. I'm 51 and often feel like I'm one of the younger members. That said, whenever I've read through posts that talked about menopause, I've gotten some good information from posters who relayed their personal experiences from when they went through it (even if that had been 20+ years before).

I've also been able to glean a lot of good information about parenting and raising teens from older posters who've BTDT so to speak.

Oh, I agree, but I am not sure there is enough demand for women's health topics to have an entire dedicated subforum. Just post in the general Health & Wellness forum.

I think there are plenty of women interested in women’s health- particularly the stuff having to do with perimenopause/menopause and women’s issues in later life. I know we’ve had a lot of younger posters discussing health issues unrelated to pregnancy.

Well, menopause is an "old woman" thing.

For many of us, that doesn't go away at age 50; it's only the beginning! My grandmother suffered hot flashes well into her 80s, and I'm going strong myself years later. Then there are the gynecological cancers, etc., that actually become MORE prevalent as women age.

I didn't realize the "Health and Wellness" forum was largely comprised of senior citizens!

Female seniors and MEN, lol. But as Rose said, you can always ask in About the Forum. I don't get to set up sub forums.

If you would like to have a thread about menopause, why don't you start one? All I am saying is that you don't need to have a dedicated Women's Health subforum to do that. People it doesn't apply to will just skip over it, as they do with any other thread.

And there is a Cancer forum already.

I am 51 and I am going through menopause right now. Other than hot flashes it's been ok. I have not gotten my period since December 2021. Although my weight has fluctuated but that's been happening awhile and I need to drop some pounds.
