Patient is almost 80. Has osteoarthritis of knee. Not only is the meniscus torn in many places, but the cushioning is just worn out!
Attached is prescription.
Patient went to Physical Therapy.
Main Physical Therapist (the owner, I guess) asked about knee, took photocopies of the X-Ray, MRI, Fluid analysis (when Dr took out liquid from knee).
Main Physical Therapist did evaluation and said they will send to insurance from pre-authorization.
He asked about health issues and Patient said he has severe aortic stenosis. Main Physical Therapist told Physical Therapist not to do electric stimulation due to heart issue.
Physical Therapist explained several exercises to Patient. Patient is trying them at home while waiting for pre-authorization from his Insurance
Patient has some questions.
1. What exactly does Prescription say. On what basis did the Physical Therapist decide which set of exercises to perform.
2. Does Prescription need to be changed because electrical stimulation will not be done (out of abundance of caution for the severe aortic stenosis)
Are there any other questions the Patient should ask?
Your guidance will help when he speaks with his health provider(s)
