Was just watching youtube videos that kind of disprove the notion that we evolved plant based... tribes in Africa eating raw meat and drinking blood tasting American sweet stuff for the first time.
Eating meat might not be ideal but neither is eating lots of fructose, sugars, and refined oils. The main issue is the carcinogens formed from high heat, but in moderation it can be countered with antioxidants... fruits, veggies, berries, coffee, chocolate, spices, dark beers.
I'll take a steak over a pot pie, hot pockets, or frozen pizza. I'm fine with vegans, as long a they don't try to ban meat eating and make the whole planet go plant based. It's not going to happen any time soon. I do acknowledge too much rainforest is being cut down for cattle though. It's unfortunate but I'm not sure what the solution is for it. It's also being cleared for palm plantations.
A lot of the cattle raised in the US is already on deforested land, and much of it on land that can't be farmed. On the rest, it's efficient factory operations, which although arguably cruel, are by far the most green and efficient way to mass produce meat, dairy, and eggs at the moment.

That's a complicated issue, and a lot of that has to do with how our medical system does, and does not work. Plus, many of the metrics were not related to diet.
Hey, I'm not saying Americans are known for great eating habits. I'm saying your claims are a bit over the top. And I am pro-plant based diet. I listen to a nutritionist who reviews studies, and he is definitely pro vegetarian just based upon studies. He eats meat. Like I said, I usually have one animal protein a day (meat, I may small amount of dairy or eggs too), the rest is plant based, and nope, I do not believe that will hurt me in any significant way. We ARE omnivores. Period, there is no question on that fact.
The list was horrible. Eating a portion of meat, does not mean you are not getting your daily fiber. Those two facts are in no way related. Articles always lead with the best "fact", and then it goes downhill. If I eat NO animal products, it does not mean you are getting daily fiber. No eating your fiber, means you are not getting your fiber.

It seems like you're making an excuse for people not being healthy, and it's the health care system's fault.
If everyone is healthy, why is it that 2/3 of Americans are either overweight or obese? Is that the fault of the healthcare system too?
