I was diagnosed after a routine endoscopy, no real symptoms noticeable to me, but apparently some visible tissue damage.

Thanks! Out of all those symptoms of your link, the cough is the only thing I have, nothing else. But you never know!

I'll post an update after I see the pulmonology PA.

You hit a certain age and they keep wanting to shove a camera down your throat, and another one elsewhere. My doc is bugging me about doing it again just because it's been xx yrs since the last time. You know, sort of like the 'bend over and cough' exam, or the 'flatten the ladies' to pancakes one. Nothing wrong, they just want to take a look, check under the hood, generally because you're getting older.

I think your doctor is full of it. Sounds like a money grab if you don't have any conditions that would warrant it "routinely".

Which is exactly what I'm saying. I only have the cough symptom yet the endoscopy and scope have shown acid in my throat to stomach.

My pulmonologist has me seeing his NP, so finally saw her this past week. She said I'm the 6th patient she's seen who has a lingering cough, including HER. She prescribed the following & said to see her in a month:

- Trelegy inhaler
- Prednisone
- Benonatate (akaa Tessalon perles)

AND

- do the set of pulmonary function tests (which I haven't had done in about 6 yrs for the 1st time)

Oh so sorry. I tell you that prednisone pill tastes HORRENDOUS. I have to swallow it down w/ some kind of food. I've never tasted a more horrendous-tasting med in my life. Good thing she only gave me 5 days worth (so far).

I also would still occasionally spit (clear mucous) too.

She said she wanted to prescribe me just the minimum so far, but enough for it to WORK, so we'll see...only been tkg these 3 meds for 2 days now.

I've taken prednisone a hundred times and never tasted a thing. It must be your pill-taking technique, it shouldn't stay in your mouth long enough to taste.

Don't worry, I know how to tk pills. I've been taking vitamins of all sizes my entire life.

The moment you put it in your mouth, you can taste that horrid flavor. When pills taste nasty, I like to swallow it down w/ a spoonful of apple sauce, pudding, or yogurt.

When's the last time YOU took prednisone? Perhaps they changed how they make it. Mine's a 50mg small-ish, white circular pill, but it's not easy-to-swallow as you'd think for a pill that small (w/ water). I guess because it doesn't have round edges & seems to have a rougher texture.
