Even after all this time, I can't understand what on earth might be erupting out of a person's nose/mouth that they would need to call a mask a face diaper.
Not a chance. I had COVID back in December and it was just a minor cold. They finally stopped requiring masks everywhere, including public transportation and Uber, and I'm so glad.
Lucky you! I had a nasty case of COVID, I don't want to catch it again. I'll continue to wear a mask when in crowds or when out at the grocery store or gym. I don't believe the government is controlling me when I wear a mask.

I think some youngsters call masks face diapers, or maybe I just think that the people who call them this are younger and more immature than the average person... Don't forget, every person over the age of 5 probably has access to the internet and we don't know the age of posters here.

At this point it's so rare to see anyone with a mask on here that I just assume they have covid and are protecting everyone else and trying not to spread it.
Same here, over it! We do see some that wear masks here in central KS as allergies to grasses and trees can be quite severe. We do have here in town, next to a military installation have a higher Asian population, and I have noticed that people that do wear masks tend to be more likely Asian than not. I am not sure why.
I read an article about long term use, which convinced me that I was right about this all along! I had read articles early on about the lack of effectiveness, so we only wore them to medical appointments where required.
"In Kansas, counties with a mask mandate had significantly higher COVID-19 case fatality rates than counties without a mask mandate."
And, interesting to note would be that we live in top counties for rejecting the vaccine and also lowest number of cases. Many businesses did not require masks here, so..............
Face diaper was a more descriptive word than face mask.

It really shows their maturity level, that's for sure.
Yes, I will be masking for the rest of my life and I’m im my early 40s, so hopefully I’ve got a while lol. I mentioned this in another thread but COVID has changed aspects of life forever.
Even simple things that we took for granted prior to 2020, like leaving the house and seeing people’s faces has changed. Since there are people who will be masking for life, when you go out, you will not necessarily see everyone’s face like you used to.

Likewise on getting a nasty case of covid and not wanting to catch it again...will continue to mask up inside in public places like Asia has been doing way before this pandemic.
Since 2020, since I’ve been masking religiously, I haven’t gotten COVID, flu, or even a minor cold. I won’t contribute that all to masking, but I think it has played a big part.
I do miss the social aspects that masking takes away, but I’ll be masking almost always a little while longer. And I will mask for life when I travel or am in any crowded environments.
