Well, it has been more than 48 hours since the Covid jab. Most of the pain in my arm is gone. I still feel some tenderness if I press my fingertips into my arm, but otherwise, I can hardly notice it anymore. On to the flu jab next....

Age and health probably have an effect too.

News reports are stating cost of vax and booster are soon to be the responsibility of the consumer, @ ~$130 a pop. That would set back a family of four over $500. There are many things I am opposed to the government paying for, this is not one. When people need to choose between the vax or getting the car fixed, covid will be back in a big way.

Oh, no!!!

I agree with you 100%. Any family will pay for rent, utilities, food, etc., before they would pay for the jab. I wonder if this is really going to happen....

Insurance will cover the cost for many, and the drug companies may offer programs for the uninsured who cannot afford it.

New Covid boosters aren’t better than old shots at neutralizing omicron BA.5, early studies find

Quote:
Scientists at Columbia and Harvard, in two independent studies, found that the new Covid boosters don’t trigger a better response against omicron BA.5 than the old shots.
The studies are small and preliminary, but they suggest boosters might not be much better at preventing infection and mild illness.
But the new boosters appear to produce at least as good an immune response as the old shots, which means they’ll still increase protection this fall and winter.

The real test will be whether the bivalent boosters provide better protection 6 months afterwards versus the original. In my opinion it's likely an original booster probably won't protect against Omicron quite as long.

That's what the government will pay via taxes collected so everyone can get "free" shots.
