Good. I'll sleep better now knowing they're going to take a good look rather than guessing your status. It's common for stents or CABG to start plugging up again after 5 yrs or so. Good luck.

Did they harvest mamary arteries or veins in your leg (or both)? The leg veins have a relatively short shelf life (typically 8 years) before they might clog up. Seems like planned obsolescence, but they've got to make their money.

I have been taking the 81 mg aspirin for a long time, and PCP suggested I go to 325 mg until I can see the cardio guy, which I am doing.
I had quad bypass in 2013 so I'm being fairly cautious in my dealings with this.

Now just waiting for the phone to ring....

In '13 they used leg veins.

I had high blood pressure for years and was taking metoprolol to keep it under control. Everything, breathing wise was fine. At the time I had been on dialysis as well.

Fast forward to a couple years ago when I got a kidney transplant. Seems my "new" kidney was working properly, and my blood pressure returned to normal. Amazing what those dang things control!

Well, I also have heart issues so since my EF was super low after transplant, they also replaced a heart valve.

Metoprolol also helps "heal" the heart, from what I was told so they wanted me to take it.

The problem at that point? Since my BP was back to normal, unmedicated, the metoprolol lowered it too much and after a couple days I'd have a very hard time breathing. Stop taking it? Breath great. Start again and a few days later it's hard to breathe They tried me on another beta blocker (c---something?) Same results.

Final update (I hope). Went in for heart cath Monday afternoon. 2 of the 4 grafts from 2013 were okay, the other 2, not so much. So I now have 2 shiny new stents. They kept me overnight at the hospital for observation, sent me home Tuesday afternoon. I have a followup visit with the cardio Doctor in a couple of weeks.

I am in awe of the doctors and the technology that allows for such a life saving procedure with nothing but a small incision in the groin and an overnight trip thru the hospital.

Thanks!
