I usually get younger but then I feel and look old. I am 34. Then again there's a saying " we are our own worst judge"
It does feel good though when I still get ask for ID when buying a lotto but that rarely happened.
How old do people think your age is? Younger or Older?

There have been many threads asking this exact question in the past. Almost everyone thinks they look younger than they are. At this point, I don't care. I am 73 and just happy to be alive. To me, it's more important how you feel. People with more energy generally are perceived as "younger."

I'm also 73, but people say I don't look a day over 71.
At the rate I'm shrinking, I don't think I'll die...I'll just disappear one of these days. My wife is starting to hide things from me by putting them on top of the refrigerator.

You haven't met my 12 yo. She's an expert at giving people backhanded compliments (at best) or vague insults (at worst).
Just today she told me that she feels like "the past 10 years have stood still" for her because I look exactly the same. And she didn't mean it as a compliment, rather, this was her way of telling me I need to change my look. My 15 yo agrees, but she's more diplomatic than her sister.
To answer the question, though, I usually get told I look about 5-7 years younger than I am (I'm in my early 50's).

Already wondering at the tender age of 34? Poor young grasshopper, you've got a looooong way to go and a lot more important things to worry about. However, to answer your question, people are usually surprised when they learn how old I am and I'm twice as old as you.

How about when you're out drinking with your daughters and you get asked for an ID?
That was a few years ago. I'm looking more my age now but I still feel 23. I think it's more important how you feel, healthwise and energy wise.

People always tell me I look younger than I am (I am perfectly comfortable revealing my age (71), I don't believe in hiding it). I look in the mirror and disagree with them. My whole family looks younger, it's in the genes especially on my dad's side.

I think I look my age (53). I don't have a lot of fat on my body to round things out. I look thin and fit, but not young.
I certainly agree that MOST people claim that everyone thinks they are much younger than they are! There is also a factor that people will guess younger on purpose and then act surprised, to be polite...

Well to be more specific, when I'm in a conversation about age or something age-related, people tell me I'm lying when I tell them my age. Eh, it's nothing to brag about. I'd trade looks for being younger, stronger and healthier, particularly after today, a challenging one related to the foregoing.
I think the reason people think I'm younger is because I have a lot of energy, act young and dress younger (but not foolishly). Mostly I think it's an energy and the way a person presents themselves.
