Quite frankly, this is not the place to shop for medical advice for anything serious.....there are a myriad of possibilities. That said, assuming most of usual suspects are ok get checked out by ear, nose and throat doctor for any inner ear issues.
I did initially think it was some kind of inner ear problem. That would explain feeling unbalanced.
The problem I have is that my "family" doctor retired over 20 yrs ago. Then my "new" doctor moved to the other side of the city. It's difficult to find a good doctor here.
Trust me, if I had a doctor I'd make an appointment. I'm just fishing for possibilities to contemplate before I fall dead on the streets lol.
Thanks, so no cause was ever found for me. I hope you can find out something!
I experience short (5 seconds) mild dizzy spells like when you stand up too quickly several times a week. Once every 18 months or so I get a more severe episode. Lose orientation, and sight, unable to prevent myself from falling. Can take 30 seconds or more to feel strong enough to try to stand up.
Have been lucky with the where and when. Could easily have had injury.
Been to the Neurologist and ENT guy, nothing amiss. Go Figya.
You might think you are sufficiently hydrated but it is more likely you aren't. When you are walking, take it easy, slow down a bit and drink about a cup of water right away. You also need potassium, electrolytes, protein, fat when you are exercising regularly. To build muscle vitamin B is utilized and you need more of it for other essential bodily functions therefore I recommend a B supplement. Perhaps you are anemic and need a one-a-day vitamin and eat more red meat and dark green leafy vegetables such as beet tops, spinach, and broccoli.
If you are taking diuretics, drink an extra quart of water per day.
I have cervical issues, all I have to do is move my head/neck the wrong way and I bounce off the walls.
Sometimes lasts for a few minutes, sometimes few hours.
It could be something neurological; ataxia is a symptom of everything from a brain tumor to MS to MSA to ALS. Could also be inner ear! If your GP can't diagnose it, that would be your next step.
