I've watched the ABC documentary with Elizabeth Vargas. I found it interesting and wanted to know if they're others like it (not just on alcohol but any other drug addiction like opioids, cocaine).
"Pleasure Unwoven" with Dr. Kevin McCauley. After watching this DVD, I was finally able to let go of my decades-long anger at my father for his alcoholism. And the background, various scenic areas of Utah, is gorgeous and actually is used as a graphic aid to help explain the disease.
Although not a good outcome the stories of many celebrities who participated in the drug culture and spent their final days there are very telling. Excellent books as well.

As noted shows like Intervention or even some epi's of Celebrity Rehab. One might it's reality TV but I've seen people do stupid or crazy stuff.
Some like to push the success of Anthony Hopkins who apparently was a severe alkie at one time.

Many of us will struggle with addiction for various reasons. There is nothing to be ashamed of...Always be willing to bring yourself towards the light. Recovery is always possible.

What did you learn that helped you let go of your anger towards him related to alcoholism?
