Nice to see Barnes-Jewish on the list. 2 of my children were born there, and my Sister-in-law had 2 kidney transplants there, and I have a friend who's retired now, but she was a nurse there on the transplant floor.

Just as further explanation, this is a list of the top adult acute care hospitals, in other words, non specialty hospitals. There are separate lists for those (hospitals that specialize in cancer, children's hospitals etc). There are additional lists for hospitals with the best care for X (cardiology, for example) and those are often subsets of the hospitals listed above.

Something that has always jumped out to me as someone who worked in healthcare is notice how many hospitals are faith based. Back when many large hospitals were founded at the turn of the 20th century, medicine and health care was still largely a charitable endeavor, and many Christian faith based hospitals were run by nuns and other clergy. I think faith based hospitals have an important and rich history, even today, but they also pose a lot of limitations with regards to their overall culture and what services they will (or won't) offer like reproductive services.

Also of note is that every hospital on this list is a teaching/academic facility, although most of these systems have smaller satellite hospitals in their communities that are generally good, but vary in quality as compared to the flagships and each other.
