In 2016 My right knee just gave out while at Walmart, thank goodness I had a cart to lean on. Ended up with shots of cortisone in both knees After the iincident at Wally World, my right knee swelled up 2 and half inches bigger than my left and has never gone back down. My primary thinks I have a meniscus tear and has referred me to a orthopedic this Fri. I looked at my scheduel this week, Wednesday I have an Allergy shot, thursday I go back to the pain clinic to set up another appt. for my next epidural shot (degenerate disc disease) and Fri. Orthopedic. for crying out loud I'm falling apart.. The worst part is I take care of of My baby sis who has chronic crohns , diabetes, and MS. She is not allowed to lift any more than 5 lbs. If I am laid up how is this going to work? I carry everything, groceries, do the yard work, clean the house..etc. How will I ever sit still? crutches? forget it tried them before and can do more damage on crutches than anything Stressing!

You have a lot on your plate!!!!
I'm almost 80 and bodywide OA and dealing with knee mess but working to do NO knee replacement, I went thru a "cleaning out" in 2017 and I swear knee is worse since as more arthritis sets in. I've read articles that many who go thru arthroscopic surgeries often end up with knee replacements...I'm doing all I can to not go there. Some do good with them and some not good.
Meniscus tears often do heal, I guess depending on how bad it is. Too much cortisone just softens the cartildge more. I avoid those shots but have had a couple and they gave me no relieve.
I had a script for epidurals over the years but did NOT do them. I deal with DDD as well and with aging it goes with the territory.
More and more info is coming out with Regenerative Medicine as the future, could be the case.
