My friend swears that this stuff keeps her calm. Is this safe? I am an anxious person and would like something natural to keep me calm and won't cause jitters. Can this stuff be used every day?

Valerian root has been used for a long time and has an excellent safety record. I would try it and see if it helps you. It isn't expensive and it is a lot less dangerous than prescription drugs.
Here is a link you might want to check out.
Valerian

Valeriana makes a human calm and a cat drunk. So if you have a cat try to avoid it noticing your drug. Either it would behave like a drug addict.

I am in love with my capsul valerian root. If you do research you will learn that moder VALum was developed from VALerian root (not a coincidence they have the same first three letters). It acts as a muscle and nerve relaxer. But it WILL NOT make you drowsy or unable to work, drive, etc, as valum will do. It is also NOT addictive. You can not really overdose to the point of severe sickness or death... maybe if you ate five pounds.

Everytime I'm feeling like I'm going to break from stress of have a neck/shoulder ache, it cures me! Tension headache- gone. No side effects for me whatsoever.

It stinks... smells like poop... that's the only draw-back.

Valerian has been used in Europe for a very long time. It's always on hand.
It is not only relax you comfortably, but it is also a good, gentle sleep aid.
I don't think it smells bad at all. Medicine-y, but not bad. If you take the capsules you don't notice it at all.

I take the capsules, and have tried a few different brands. They stink! I'd like to know what brands don't stink. I had taken one the other day in my office, just opened the bottle, and someone walked in and I had to explain to them that I was not sitting in my office farting becuase the whole office smelled foul. Haha. Seriously, I can't find capsules that don't smell!

not sure if it's true, but i heard the strong smell is a good sign of little processing of the valerian root, therefore, being a better product. When I take it, I pop it in my mouth and swallow as fast as possible!

A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down...as the song goes.

My parents used to give it to me in a spoonful of sugar when I was a kid in
Germany. It was quite good.
