That's interesting. I've never heard of someone getting them occaisionally. I thought you either get them all the time or you don't get them at all.

BTW... before I got on the Topamax, I used to tie my head with a scarf really tight and close my eyes in a dark, quiet room.

I don't know if the terrible headaches I get periodically are migraines, but they are terrible. I usually make a trip to my chiropractor, then I will put my moist-heat heating pad on my head, while I am resting! then, when it is bedtime, if the headache is still killing me, I put vicks on my neck, and forehead. really helps relax everything.

Try 4 Advil!... But no more than that 800milligrams is the most you can take in one dose.

They could very well be migraines.... who knows. I don't think that even Doctors have a handle on this stuff.

My past migraines laughed at every method or pill.

I got rid of them by doing the master cleanse.
I dont get even normal headaches that much anymore. They usually pass without even bothering for a pill.

Before that my migraines would be so bad sometimes I would hold my breathe because the sound of air was too loud. Sometimes the sound of silence was too loud.

Good luck in whatever you do.
Watch for that headfog that comes on before the pain does. Whatever you do..Do it then to prevent a severe one. It was the only trick that made life livable until I found the master cleanse. I did it for joint pain but it cleared many other problems.

What's a master cleanse? I've never heard of it.

Its a simple juice fast detox. I thought it was extreme and didnt want to do it at first. I really didnt believe it would work. But I didnt want knee surgery more...So I just gave it a go.

Heres a url to the book online:
The Master Cleanse

I skip the laxative tea part as I think that can create colonic dependency and isnt needed beyond day 1. I also dont do the Salt water flush because it makes me ill and it is for additional cleansing. I add pulp instead. I think it works better than the salt water/tea thing anyway.

What is that powder BC? Where do I get it?
There's a gadget that might work if they get it on the market. Also, coenzyme Q10 might help.

My wife is a massage therapist, and she does this headache massage. Now, it's not a cranial-sacral technique...it's just a pressure point technique...but if we catch a migraine on the way up, before about 75% intensity, I've got a fair chance it will knock it down to something I can manage.

But on days I've taken Imitrex and don't want any more due to the rebounds, I just have to suck it up and hurt...so yeah...Magnesium sounds worth a try...any certain quantities?

BC or Goody's powders can be found in the section around other aspirin products. I typically buy the extra strength(green box) large box of the BC powders. They work great. I'm afraid of the migraine meds on the market.

I've been fortunate to have only had two really bad ones...the ones where you're throwing up and wishing you were dead. Total I've only had maybe 7 or so ever. If I lie down in a quiet, dark, comfortable place, I can usually get through them in about 2 hours.

My sister takes Midrin for hers. My brother gets migraines but I'm not sure what his meds are. My co-worker and I both have Imitrex. The co-worker goes through her prescription a lot quicker than I do. A 9 pill prescription will last me over a year.

Great advice about magnesium. I'll have to try that.

Oh, I don't drink soda, I don't like chocolate and although I love coffee, I can't handle the caffiene...it keeps me up at night (even if I stop drinking coffee at 11am).
