After reading your article about your 17 year daughter who is suffering since receiving gardasil I just had to respond. I feel your pain and heartache. I too have a 17 year daughter who has become ill since receiving her final gardasil shot in August. We have seen 3 doctors now and each one has given me a different diagnosis/thought on what it could be. I too am getting frustruated and pissed. My daughter has been healthy for 17 years with no conditions/diseases thus far. She started feeling bad about 3 weeks after her final shot. She complained about headaches, tiredness, she didn't want to eat, hands were blotchy and clammy, painful and now when her hands get wet the skin is peeling off. Her elbows had oval purple bruise-like rash as well as her toes and feet are purple bruised looking with red heels and skin peeling. I feel helpless and wish I could take the symptoms for her. I wished I would have never had her get this shot. Our girls are not guinea pigs for the medical industry to make their millions on. The doctors state her blood tests are negative (lots of blood work taken). Yesterday we saw a dermatologist again who believes it may be a skin rash and now has referred us to Children's Hospital, Pedriatric Specialist. I don't believe this specialist really knows what my daughter has and this is why she is referring us to Children's. I am encouraging my daughter to be positive through this, prayer and hope that she will be well soon. I am giving her vitamins and drinks to boost her immune system, eating better and more often. As mothers we do as much as we can even if it kills us. I hope this info helps you and others who may be considering this vaccine. I encourage mothers and daughter NOT to receive this vaccine. I read there are over 8,000 adverse cases and 21 deaths and I wasn't aware that the vaccine has only be approve since 2006 - only 2 years ago. They don't know what the long term effects of it are. If I could go back to the day I took my daughter for this vaccine I would gladly go back. I have contacted a lawyer now but my one wish is that my daughter was rid of these symptoms and her healthy self again. I will say a prayer for your daughter.

I have said all the time gardasil is to new a drug and not enough is known about it. If my daughter were a teen or younger, I would not let her get that shot until it has proven that it will do no harm.
Anything that is being hawked on TV is not really good for you. There must be a big mark up for someone. I really get irritated when they show very young girls in the ad as if telling young women, well these girls are sexually active so they better get the shot. Now really, we are not even sure if the birth control we swallowed for years or the IUDs we wore will have long lasting problems. Why is this company pushing something that is really only necessary for a sexually active person. Good luck, I know you wanted only the best for your daughter, it is just easy to get caught up in the hype. Keep pushing this company, they should be held liable.
Drs never think a vaccine can have side effects, they have been brainwashed! I don't trust any vaccine!!!!!! And yes there has been alot reported about Gardasil.
I woke up this morning with the word gardasil in my head. I came straight to the computer and found your post among other items on reactions to the vacine. Our daughter also has been having symptons since starting the vaccine. She has not been hospitalized as your daughter has been, however we have been down the road of a neurologist, MRI testing for possible MS because of numbness, loss of strength (she too is a runner). I too am sick that I allowed this possible scenerio to happen to my healthy, beautiful daughter. My ???'s now are also what to do. Her ongoing symptons of acid-reflux like feelings, upset stomach, numbness in her feet, irregular periods (the dr. put her on birth control to regulate that one)and she on the other hand has had unexplained weight gain before going on the pill. She is away at college (700 miles) However, if a naturopath is an option we would def find one in the area if it would help her symptons. Her reaction is not as severe as some I have read about, your daughter included, but it has changed her lifestyle and she is not the same healthy girl she once was. I would only add not to give up. Keep looking for answers, contacting top people in the country if need be and keep at it. Google, search and talk to anyone who might be able to help. Good luck.
My 17 year old daughter got the Gardasil vaccine the end of May.Since then she has had nothing but problems, including being in the ICU for a couple of days because of pericarditis.She also has excruciating head aches,fatigue,shortness of breath, chest pain,stomach pains,loss of appetite and so on and so on. The doctors now think it's effecting her auto immune system.( Two of her pediatricians agree it was the shot) This was a girl that was running about 10 miles a day before the shot and now can't walk upstairs without resting. At any rate, we are waiting on an appointment to see the Rheumatologist and have just started seeing a naturopath. The problem is that this shot and it's effects are so new no one really knows what to do with her,and the Docors sort of just try to treat what they think is going on. I'm at a loss, she has gotten very weak and hasn't been to school in two weeks now. I have adjusted her diet, and am limiting red meat and fat, and trying to feed her mostly fruits/ vegetables and lean meat. I've thought about contacting teaching hospitals, both those that teach conventional and alternative methods. I just thought I would see if anyone out there has any other ideas. She's just getting worse and worse and I need help.
Thanks for ANYTHING you can suggest. I would take her to Canada if that would make her better,so we are open to almost anything.
I appreciate you making this post, especially since I have a 15 year old that I've been meaning to get to the GYN to be put on BC as well as getting the injection although I was unsure of which of the two it would be. I'm going to hold off like I did with the chicken pox vaccine.
I'm in the process of figuring out if I will have cervical cancer or if it's HPV, so giving my daughter this injection was to save her from what I'm going through.
Those of you with daughters having side effects, I appreciate all of you posting here & hope that you find a solution to this.. Please keep us posted.

I don't agree with them pulling Vioxx and know a lot of people that also feel the same way. IMO if someone is given Vioxx they should be tested (heart IIRC) to make sure they are as medically healthy as possible, then made to sign a release. My life has been hell since the pulled it. It was the only thing that worked for my arthritis.
After reading this I'm very concerned. Both my daughter have had 2 of the 3 shots. I'm seriously considering not getting the third.
There was a HUGE marketing campaign before the vaccine became available. I remember the post cards i the ladies magazines..."Tell someone." There were commercials...THEN the shot was available. The hype was already in place for them.
My heart goes out to the Mom's whose daughters are not well, really seriously ill...after having these shots.
