We just recently moved into a new home, built on a slab. Every morning, when we get out of bed, we have popping noises, comming from our toes, or ankles.....no pain, just popping noises. Never had this before. It is so strange. I didn`t even know where to post this.....health, home, or even retirement, as we are seniors.
Wondering if anyone else has this problem, that has floors, on a slab.

You would have popping joints, not bones

It could be. Just so strange, that we both got the popping sounds, as soon, as we moved to a home, with hard floors, over a slab fondation.

All of my joints will pop and make noise. I've always lived in a house with a slab foundation, so I don't know how I'd be somewhere else, but when we had the carpets pulled up for foundation repair, I was a lot more sore and creaky than usual. Maybe adding an area rug to your bedroom would help you be more comfortable when you first get out of bed. I had to get a memory foam bathroom rug because I can barely stand on the tile floor when I first get up, especially if it's cold.

Popping joints are common, especially when you get older. I have this all the time. The type of floor makes no difference (for me) although we recently moved from hard slab/terrazzo to elevated foundation with wood which I prefer these days. Still getting popping knees, though.

I am thinking it is the flooring. Too much of a coincidence. Both of us at the same time, after moving into the new house. Never had this before. It is a constant popping sound, all the way from the bedroom, to the coffee machine, in the morning. And very loud.

Are you sure it is your joints and not your floor? If you have a wood floor over a slab and live in a cold climate, the two will contract and expand at different rates. Our floors used to do that in the morning.

Why not put down some rugs or wear well cushioned slippers and see if they help? A lot simpler and cheaper than another house!
