What do you think is a good gift for a male doctor? He's really helped me out a lot this month and wanted to send him a thank you.

my daughter is a doctor and I know she doesn't like gettng a gift per se. She has received nice cards from her patients and those make her smile and assures her the patient appreciates her.

I agree, send a card and in the card write in youre own words how they changed your life for the better. To me thats the best kind of gift, doctor or otherwise.

I've worked for doctors too, and I'll say that unless it's something he/she can share with his office crew, such as homemade goodies like cookies or cake....forget it! A nice card or personal note (not a long letter, please!) will make his day more than anything you could buy.

And if you do send something edible, address it to "Dr. Whozit and Staff.

ditto cards- anything too personal may make him feel uncomfortable. Buy something for the office/instead for him. People have left candy, donuts, also a staff pleaser...
