Well to compare you would have had to try both and given enough time for each to kick in. I am on Effexor and it has worked well for me, no side affects.

I took Effexor back when it came out for anxiety (doctor had loads of samples) and I really couldn't even tell I was taking anything. I've never heard of Celexa.

Effexor made me really sick (nausea, like a bad "flu"). I would start taking it, get really sick and stay in bed for a couple of days; then start over a few weeks later - believe it or not I didn't initially make the connection. I have done much better with Celexa, but that's just me.
