It seriously sounds like a dietary issue. I think it might be worth a trip to your doctor for a food allergy test. You might be having a minor allergic reaction to something you eat every day and have no idea.
I have a co-worker who thought she was gluten intolerant because she experienced such severe bloating after eating any form of wheat product. She stayed away from gluten for years with mixed success. She finally had a food allergy blood test done and discovered she was NOT allergic to gluten at all, but totally allergic to a bunch of common every day foods... like BANANAS! She cut out all of those foods from her diet and now feels great. Go figure.
Beano and believe it or not Zantac can help with the gas, but if you don't fix the problem, you'll be battling this for a very long time. I would focus on treating the cause rather than the symptom.
Good luck - I'm sure that's very embarrassing for you. Just remember - we all do it!
Well, it won't help with the quantity of gas and might actually increase it, but being a vegetarian makes it a lot less stinky. Just throwing that out there in case it's something that holds any interest for you. Good luck.
Digestion issues. Like someone said, try probiotics and digestive enzymes. You might have to look around for a good brand. Also, diet modification. Are you eating too fast? Not chewing well enough. Decrease stress when eating, too, for better digestion.
Eat yogurt each day. It helps regulate problems in the digestive tract.
There is a supplement at the health food store called "Acidophilus." Taken daily, it can help with gas.
I take Acidophilus for stomach problems. I believe it helps. You can also try anise, fennel seed or peppermint in capsule form. These are digestive aids you can get at a health food store or on line as I do. I found apple juice does a number on me among other things.
Even though I have a relatively healthy diet my flatulence is driving me crazy. The smell is enough to kill a horse! I'm in the car quite a bit for my work and I either roll down the windows at 12 degrees, freeze, or suffer through the smell.
I know, TMI, but seriously, does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of the smell before it happens?
i used to have it myself. an herbalist that i contact by phone helped me cure it. i was put on a diet, and i found that flour products and oatmeal were causing much of it. i also take enzymes now and they help me digest foods. if it eat totally raw i do not get gas. if i eat raw garlic i do.
I'm on a low cal diet now and find eating smaller quantities and less carbs (starches) is good. I am eating more fiber (veggies) and you would think I have more problems but I don't.....go figure. When I did this in the past to lose a few pounds, I felt that maybe certain carbs bother me because that's what I cut out a ot of.
I have a similar issue and have tried everything. I found that the pro-biotic yoghurts helped a little bit but I haven't found any medicines that have sorted my flatulence problem out! I have however found some underwear that have helped me while I look for a solution (if there is one!). They're filtration underwear, there's a few on the market but I went for some called Shreddies that seem to do the job! Good luck!
There are others...
These would have saved us from alot of suffering when my boys were teens LOL
