I've just become the new Health and Wellness Forum moderator. If anyone sees a problem with something posted in here (such as a violation of the TOS - copyright infringement, baiting/flaming, harassment, spam, product or website advertising, etc.) please DM me and let me know about it. Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who has DMed me to let me know about problem posts. Please DM me if you see any problem posts and if you can, include a link to the post/thread (instead of clicking "Report post to moderator" - because I'm not getting those reports for some reason). Thanks again!

Welcome Tao.
I see you are merging threads, I have mixed feelings about it.
On one hand I agree that some topics should be merged but others no.
Why have a health section for advice if you can't make your own post to get help? I fear that if such merged topics will be policed you might lose posters.
Maybe it's time for separate section pertaining to those topics? I've suggested it before and think now would be a great time..
chronic pain - or a pain section
cancer
panic attacks/depression
Thanks, Roselvr. I understand your mixed feelings.
But after careful consideration I felt that threads about the same exact issue (particularly anxiety/panic attacks, back pain, herniated discs, depression, etc.) kept popping up and the wealth of support, advice and information already given in older threads on the same topics weren't being seen because those threads were way back on other pages. By merging the threads by topic and making them stickied I feel it will help new posters who are looking for the advice, support and info that are shared in the threads. I also edited the titles of the threads to be more inclusive. Hopefully the posters in this forum will find this helpful.
As a new mod here, I'm just finding my way. I can't create sub-forums so having stickied threads for "hot topics" is the best I can do.
If anyone can think of other recurring topics that might be merged and then stickied, we can discuss it here. I'm open to suggestions on how to make this forum more user-friendly, helpful and supportive for all.
I'm sure you'll get a few DM's from me as we always have the spammers who post between midnight till morning and since i first post at around 4.00 a.m. before i go to the gym i'll keep on them .
Thanks, Roselvr. I understand your mixed feelings.
I know how hard modding is.
What I found that worked for me was to try to keep an open mind when reading posts in my section to try to give everyone posting a chance to say what they needed to say and to get the help that they needed. Like where my niece was concerned with the "panic attack" someone doesn't have time to read 50 pages of posts to get help which is the problem I have with merging or saying you have to post this type of post in this thread. I can tell you that some posters do get discouraged if their posts are locked/merged/deleted and they may not come back. I almost left CD due to it.
People that are new online have no clue how to use a search feature, some don't know how to get DM's or how to set up their profile to get email replies or how to find their own posts. Try to keep your patience and you will be fine. lol
btw, I know you can't create subforums but maybe you can talk to the admins if you feel they might be useful..
I think a nice way to do the merge is just make the master thread like a log of all things in that subject.
Leave fresh subjects alone for a month or two and after the OP's post has pasted the move date you can archive it with the master thread.

"With great power...."
That's pretty much what I did. The threads I merged together were all old threads about the same topic and they were way past page 1.
