Did the color come out in the toilet water, or did it stay in the stool? I'd think blood would come out and turn the water pinkish. I have noticed that tomato sauce (spaghetti) will turn mine a red/orange color.

It was on one side of the stool and I did not have anything related to tomatoes. :-)

As mentioned by others, it is possible you ate something that makes your stool look the way it did. However, you have a history of color caner and need to know whether that was bllod or not. Have your doctor give you a kit that you can do at home in the privacy of your own bathroom. You do not eat any red meat for a certain amount of days and of course do not do it anywhere around the time of your period. You get a sample and mail it in and it shows whether there is blood in the stool or not. If it turns out negative you have the choice whether to pursue it any further. If it turns out positive for bllod you need to see a specialist for further testing. Good luck to you!
