Like I often say, "I can fall asleep on a picket fence!"
If I sit on the couch to watch TV, I am out within 1/2 an hr. Half the time I wake up like a cranky baby, but then I'm up till the wee hours of the AM.

I'm always tired when I get up in the AM, no matter how much sleep I had too. Give me 10 minutes, and I'm awake.

Plus if you screw up big time, you already know the ropes and have that couch mastered for the full night sack out.

Practice makes perfect.

I do every Saturday and Sunday and any other day I'm off from work. They last anywhere from 1 hour to 3 1/2 hours. I love them, and they energize me. Actually, the other day while watching the one-act play at work (school), I took a nap. Apparently some of the students "caught" me and asked me, "What was the play about?" I told them I hadn't a clue. They cracked up. Yes, I was a bad example to them, but I could not stay awake.

3 1/2 hours! You're my new hero KewGee! I take a nap daily. Best thing in the world for ya. All the good reasons are mentioned above and I agree with them 100%. Well, except for during the school play...

It's hard enough for me to sleep at night, I don't sleep in the day unless I'm sick.

My life is a series of naps... I start out my week on Sunday night at 11 p.m. Since I sleep Saturday night/Sunday a.m., all I can manage on Sunday is a nap before I go off to work. On Monday thru Fri, I usually sleep for a few hours (after spending time here... ) Get up when my wife comes home from work. Then I usually get in a little nap before I leave for work again. I usually play "catch-up on Friday night, sleeping a good 8-9 hours.

I agree; they're great for us. Sometimes I don't get enough sleep during the week hence, falling asleep at the school play (bad, very bad) and naps on the weekends are just part of my life. Love them!!

Thanks for the rep point.

I've tried the power nap in the afternoon. My problem though, when I start to doze off I twitch. My foot will bend it like Becham and I'll wack the coffee table or scare the cr*p out of myself It can be really embarrassing on the plane or some other mode of public transportation.

Haven't napped since I was a kid. Sometimes I'll doze off for 10 minutes while watching tv at night but I don't count that as a nap.
