For the past 4 years I have noticed on and off that when i sleep my bedpillow gets soaked and i don't know why. I have occasional obstructive sleep apnea and have had it for the past 18 years(dad had it but it stopped), I am overweight(5'7 1/2, 225). I am 47.

In 2004 I developed a bunch of weird symptoms such as IBS, urinary urgency, headaches. At the end of 04 I developed testicular pain and a fever (with the symptoms mentioned present) and went on antibiotics. In early 05 i was hospitalized for a few days for swollen varicose veins (superficial phlebitis) and tho I have gotten much better since then with exercise those symptoms remain and there are times when the bedpillow gets soaked in the middle of the night or when i awaken. it's not a big deal except that over time it will cause an unsightly stain on the pillow base and the pillow protector. Sometimes stains will become permanent and it gets to the point where I will just ditch them and get new protectors(I don't even want to sleep on a pillow that has a protector underneath that is laundered but permanently stained). So all i seem to do it buy new pillows and protectors

Are the protectors maybe aggravating the problem?

Anything i can do to protect the pillows better? this is really getting to be an annoyance

Any idea why the pillow gets soaked periodically?(not every day but it's still too much)

Default I have no

STD's, never did, I frequently need my ears drained at the doctor though, I had a PPD test, it was negative(it's not "night sweats") and have them regularly at my job

i'm not concerned about anything serious, just that it's getting annoying to have to bet a new pillow and protector all the time

if anyone knows of any stain proof pillows or protectors (like a towel that is comfortable to sleep on you can out over the pillow) let me know

thx

Sounds like nite sweets. Drolling would leave a stain in a small spot and you would notice dried drool on your mouth area.

Is it just the pillow getting wet or the bed?

I guess you realized after posting what you originally did that the poster is a male? lol

And FWIW, my husband is also having a bad night sweating problem which is why I'm interested in what the OP has to say.

Default yeah

i'm a male and a straight one. i'm going thru mid life crisis but not menopause!!
mid life crisis alone should not cause the pillow to get wet, right!!??

years ago when i was ill with prostatitis i seemed to sweat up the pillow and the chest area but now it's only the pillow area. like i say it's not really that bad but i am getting tired of checking the pillow when i change the pillowcases, seeing the protective cover and outer pillow stained and having to get new ones. is it odd to not want to put a stained but laundered pillow cover under the pillowcase, i just can't bring myself to put my head on it, even if it's protected. am i odd?

maybe it's my snoring problem or that i'm overweight and have metabolic syndrome.
