Anyone else here get restless leg syndrome? I have it very bad at night and I'm curious as to whether any remedies truly work. Would love to hear some people's stories/cures!

I used to get this back in the late eighties early 90's when I waitressed. This sounds crazy but I would do this Yoga position where I would lay on the floor, on my back, my glutes are against the wall, with my leggs straight up against the wall. Like a L shape. It would reverse the blood flow and help relax my leggs after being on my feet for double shifts.

It sounds crazy but it works. I wish I had a link for it. I don't have any other ideas. I remember it would drive me crazy!!!!

My husband takes mirapex. It has helped him tremendously. It is a prescription though.

Mirapex!!!!Yes, I would be half crazy w/out it. Have had this darn condition for a few years. Now it is even in my shoulder and sometimes in my arms. This is if I fail to take my meds. Mirapex does work. I take Ultram about 7-8 P.M. and then the Mirapex about 1 hour before my bedtime which is usually about 4 hours later. So 4 hours apart and it does help. Very seldom am I bothered by RLS. Have found that if I do some exercise such as walking or stretching during the late afternoon, it helps also.

Good luck to you and please check with your care giver about this.

I don't have RLS, but a friend does and she takes Magnesium at night. Magnesium is a natural relaxer and most people are deficient already. I always take it at night and sleep like a baby!

Exercise every day. Mine went away completely when I started working out.

I've had RLS for many years and what works best for me is putting a band of some kind (I tie two socks together) around around my ankles. Then I push my legs/feet outward to create tension against the band.
