What I've read is that the fatalities in Mexico were 20-40 year olds and most of them waited too long to seek treatment. What I take away from that is if you come down with a high fever seek medical treatment ASAP.

Thats why I am wondering how the availability of health insurance will play out?

Mayor Bloomberg today said to do the opposite. He said to stay home away from people, at all costs, unless the illness progressed to a serious one. He advised people with flu like symptoms, NOT to seek medical attention and NOT to go to the hospital. Amazing!
They know this bad puppy is coming, fast a furious.

Yep, and take the meds the CDC says effectively fights it, we'll be fine...or you could do what others are doing and walk around in a mask, whatever floats your boat!!
Is there any cure and/or treatment for this disease??
Antivirals like Tamiflu seem to be effective. The gov't has been stockpiling (or having the companies stockpile) antivirals for a while, anticipating a bird flu pandemic.
If you have a fever and flu symptoms, then you should go to the doctor.

I have three of the above.
So do I, but that can be an advantage. The deadly thing about this disease is the cytokine storm, which anyone with a weakened immune system isn't as likely to get.
So we would have to worry only about the usual danger from a flu (which would be substantial for us, I spent a week in the hospital last year). I'd say to get a stash of Tamiflu ready and dose yourself at the first sign of a fever and shortness of breath.

You might call up the so called experts, as they are telling people to stay home.
