My wife and I are on our second bottle of 120 capsules.
Each bottle cost about $40.
The major effect I have noticed is a shrinking in my wallet and a creeping feeling of gullibility.

For those of you who cannot tolerate red wine, drink pomegranate juice for the same benefits. If you are currently taking medications for heart disease, please check with your doctor. There can be contraindications.

The tannins in the red wine are thought to be the key--they contain anti-oxidants. You can get similar effects from black tea.

If you don't like the dry cabernet sauvignon varietal, try a sangiovese or a barbera.

While the Tannins in tea's are important and i swear by Green Tea keeping me youngish as i still feel like i'm 28 and i squeeze the green fluid out of the used teabags and rub it over my skin daily however most of research of the longevity genes expression to do with with Red Wine has to do with the polyphenol Resveratrol.

Thanks for the tip on sangiovese .

Anything so I can drink a bit and be healthy, I'm all for it. I think they said beer has some benefit too, not really at the same level but some.

I had a doctor once (Dr Szpak - pronounced "Spock", I SWEAR!) who advised me to drink one glass of red wine after every single meal; six ounces, no less. I have a lot of internal problems and he insisted that it would make things "work through at a reasonable pace".

I have to say I tried it for awhile; but Bloody Marys go so much better with breakfast and frankly, every single boss I ever had objected to my health regimen. Alas.

It sounds like a joke - and it is a LITTLE tongue in cheek - but it's true. Six ounces of wine makes my internal problems much less invasive and disruptive, and keeps me out of the hospital, where I have often in the past ended up with sepsis.

Default Red Wine Alternative

To get the most benefit from red wine you would have to drink a couple bottles a day. This would seriously cause some liver damage!

Most of the gene chip studies have shown just a glass a day is enough to effect the Sirt-1 genes as one needs to consume a couple of bottles a day .
