A young 20 year old man I know smoked marijuana, but tells me he no longer smokes it. I have recently noticed that the formerly thick hair on top of his head is now thinning, with a bald spot forming on the back, at the crown.
I've heard that marijuana use can cause hair thinning. It's related to interferring with hormones and blood flow. I'm suspecting he still smokes the stuff. Any experience with this phenomenon?
Thanks in advance.

LOL
LMAO
not that I have personal experience but was a child of the 70's
I seriously doubt it causes hair loss. I think that's typically genetics and sometimes a medical issue; such as thyroid.

No, it's not thyroid. There is a sudden and substantial loss of hair from the last time I saw him in March.

But pot doesn't cause hair loss.
If it did, there would be far more bald people running around.

Pot doesn't, but they don't exactly use the best natural methods to grow it. Pesticides and heavy metals can be on the plant. It would especially be noticeable if he has been loosing weight recently (toxins the body doesn't know what to do with gets stored in fat).

I will agree with you here in the sense pot can be grown using some nasty chemichals. The hippies in Cali growing a lot of the marijuana supply have become quite the capitolists. Grow as much as quick as possible to meet the demand to make as much money as possible.
With that being said I have never lost hair although I am far from a regular user. I only use once in a while for a spirtual journey and of course to keep my tolerence low
