So true. They can't say anything to anyone, even friends/family, without your consent. Not to say generic statistical data can't be shared but anything personal is protected by law.

Why would they want to know if you're taking blood pressure medication? That's quite a common drug, doesn't indicate anything that would make you unemployable.

No they cannot. If your employer finds out from your insurance or your doctor it is a violation of HIPPA laws and they can be sued for a hell of a lot of money.
