Although not a guarantee, a defibrillator increases your chances of survival. I bought one for my house.

that is good to hear.
Also people should know that CPR really does very little (is not useless), but the amount of people that survive from only CPR is extremely small.
Only in movies that you see that CPR is so successful.
CPR is mostly to buy some time until advance medical treatment(defibrillator, epinephrine, etc ).
So doing CPR is important, it will help in the survival for that individual until the paramedics arrive. But doing CPR rarely(but not impossible) would bring someone back to life, like in the movies.
