No....you aren't mentally retarded. The first sign of a good mind is knowing that you don't know everything. It is all the people out there who think they know EVERYTHING who are the retarded ones.
well i know i am retarded. IMO, everybody should have equal knowledge of basic things in life. why is this a bad thing? is there a logical reason why?
if you're insinuating that i'd know more than others, so what? Good looking people don't give two hoots if they get more dates than ugly people do. They just see it as how life is.
I can see your having a couple of bad days. Samston, If your supervisor did not reprimand you , ignore the co-workers. If you aim to be perfect 100% of the time, your going to feel let down, stop being so hard on yourself.
I dunno..some people march to a different drummer, and have other things to think about.
I've been at the gym and everyone is discussing TV shows and entertainment stuff and I haven't a clue of what they're speaking, but it just doesn't bother me...I may be thinking about what dogs see if they don't see in full color or why butterflies are so pretty and caterpillars not so much...and other stuff. Am I dumb? No? Am I different? Maybe. Does it matter? Nope. Not at all.
What are you thinking about that's not in the popular lexicon? Are other people dumb for not thinking of what you're thinking? No. We're just all on different wave lengths...
Remember Robert Frost's poem, The Road Less Traveled? The last stanza says,
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Exactly.... I do the very same thing, in a sense I'm kind of inept.
There are times when I'm so focused on something else, there could be a 6 alarm fire and I would just say, What?
i often find i'm the last to know of important things. why is this?
i only knew that one has to help themselves in life when i was 24. Am I mentally retarded?
why are you competing and comparing?
what's up with that?
you could just be yourself and accept who you are.
as i see it, the competing and comparing are the issue ... not that someone knows something before you do or that someone knows something that you don't.
why does it matter?
perhaps it would be better to work out these issues (which would ultimately create more happiness) instead of worrying about other people and what and when they know it.
it's kind of trivial really.
but you are not trivial.

I am a competitive person.
And i won't look like a common fool any more by not knowing important things in life later than anybody else.

TV shows don't matter in the grand scheme.
