But, your body reactivates the gene operon that produces the enzyme when it senses lactose in your body. Its odd to me that it would turn off and on rather than disable at a certain point.
Also, I hear the argument that we are the only animals that consume milk after infancy with some frequency. It makes sense and definitely has some merit, but we're also the only animal that can fashion projectile weapons, refrigerate our food and homes, use toothpaste, vaccinate against crippling illnesses, perform surgery, solve complex problems with complex mathematics, so on and so forth. Being singularly privileged as a species to a particular practice does not necessarily mean that it is bad.
