weight control is huge factor. watch out in yoga none of that leg behind the head stuff. talk to an MD, do not hyperextend the knee over the foot.
(lung position like fencing)
What about with sitting? I do that when I sit so its no jerky movements but i find pain happening again up straitening it out. I made a post in fitness if you want to reply to this there:
When I was 12 yrs old, I hurt my left knee in a roller blading accident & I had surgery on it (cartilage tear)...I went to physical therapy when I was younger. Now I'm 21 yrs old & I've been taking a yoga class for summer & it has really done a number on my knee...everytime I stretch it, it feels like it wants to pop but for some reason my body won't let it...
I am not an active person & I find that anytime I start to exercise (be it moderate to intense), my left knee starts to hurt...I think it may be hereditary because my father also has bad knees...
Is there any way for me to relieve me of this pain in my knee?
OMG I feel your pain (no pun intended). Lately, I have been having horrible knee pain - so bad that it wakes me up at night and I cannot get back to sleep. Literally, it has brought me to tears more than once.
I am not big on meds, so I take a couple of aspirin and I find that a really hot bath helps a lot. (A glass of wine doesn't hurt either)
My Hubby is having knee pain recently as well (wakes him up at night, etc), however, it is due to O-Arthritis. He is early 60's, but has always been quite active - generally in great shape. He recently had shot in knee - that is supposed to help - but takes a bit of time.
Also, I was researching some 'natural' options, and SAMe came up several times, sounds interesting, but is a little expensive (supplement speaking).
One place I particularly like to research this type of thing is www.lef.org (Life Extension).
However, because of your young age, it could really be best to have it checked out so you know what's really going on and can go from there. BEST OF LUCK!!

I was one of those active people who put off knee surgery thinking it would be like the 70’s and 80’s knee operations. I had shots, took drugs to fight the inflammation, and slowly gave up the activities I liked due to the pain. Five weeks ago today I went in and had the operation. I did this only after I was told they would not give me any more shots, and if I did not get it repaired I would be looking at a knee replacement.
The surgery was nothing. I was on crutches for a few days, used a cane for a week, and took pain killers for one day. It hurt less than before the surgery, and today only five weeks out I am walking over two miles a day, riding my bike over six miles several times a week, and planning to start running again by the end of the month. I feel like I was given back my life. I waited almost four years to get this done, lost 70% of my Cartilage, and had to have the joint ground down due to damage I did by waiting. Tell your husband to bite the bullet and get it done. It is no where near as bad as having to go shopping in the mall on a “family outing” (that was a joke) in truth I wish I had let them operate when they first told me I needed it. Sure would have saved a lot of hurting.

Are there any good ways for me to pop my knee? Everytime I stretch, I just want to stretch it out so I can pop it...kind of like getting rid of the crick in your back through popping it...I feel like there's a crick in my knee...
