anyone ever have tendonitis of the achilles tendon? How was it treated?

Achilles tendinitis (note the spelling) is usually treated with rest, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ice (if it occurred in the past 24h) and, eventually, physical therapy.

I've had achilles tendonitis(either spelling is correct) and treated many folks with it.
The key is ice, ice and more ice. Stretching helps, a slight heel lift in your shoe if it is really painful can be helpful short term. Anti-inflammatories if you have no contraindication.

thanks! have an appointment at the ortho next week. all of the "home' remedies I have tried have been ineffective.
