I am 33 and I have been dx w Rheumatoid Arthritis now for about 3 years, it is not uncommon to have arthritis at 50, Osteo Arthritis, etc... even RA, which I have is normally found in the 30s and 40s
Arthritis is not age dependent. I have acquaintances that showed symptoms in their 20s and people who are diagnosed with it, but show no symptoms, in their teens.
Arthritis is yet another symptom from what you are all eating. You don't have to get it at any age.
I agree. I changed my diet to lots more fruits and vegetables. I also do a lot more from scratch cooking (no preservatives or whatever else is being placed in processed foods.). I drink a lot of water, a minimum of 3/4 gallons a day. I being practising Hatha Yoga for almost four years now. Combine that with monthly massages and I'm pain free. Dig it, when the doctor was diagnosing me, the sounds my knee was making made her wince. I'll be 50 years old in less than a year.
Of course it took the criminalization of Vioxx to get me to do any research on the subject
At age 50 I am already suffering from Arthritis Is it to early for someone to get it? I wonder how old the average person is when they get Arthritis
I'm only 30, and have had arthritis since my early 20s... it's mostly genetic in my case, plus I was very overweight for years. I've since lost 65 lbs., and it's improved a bit, but still hurts on a daily basis. I mostly have it in my knees, which can't get better without surgery (putting it off for now), and in my feet. I do a LOT of walking and yoga/stretching now, which hurts right afterward, but has improved my pain overall. Also have a special prescription, which you can't get in every state - and that probably helps the most. I've had a number of cortisone shots too, but I don't find any long-term relief from those. Anyway, sorry to ramble, but my short answer is that 50 is definitely not too young!

While a good diet can help, it certainly isn't the only factor in arthritis... my sister has also suffered from OA in her hips, since a very early age, and she eats like a rabbit! Literally, she's 5 months pregnant right now, and still weighs only 115 lbs. She's on a no-gluten, no-carb, no red meat, low-fat, etc. diet - basically only eats things like lean fish, brown rice and vegetables. So even eating perfectly doesn't always cure the symptoms of arthritis, especially when genetics come into play. Oh, and we were also figure skaters for many years, which can really destroy your body for life.
