I have gone through the greatest tragedy lately. My dear friend has died from complications from swine flu and septicemia. It is such a calamity for everyone involved: his family, his friends, and apartment neighbors, they too are going to miss him terribly. He died on the morning of October 14th and I just broke down in pain. His funeral was this Saturday. There is no more rousing moment in life than seeing your dear friend of 18 years get carried out of the church by pallbearers in a pine box with a somber-faced family bringing up the rear. Just yesterday it seems we were cutting up and laughing and debating where to have lunch after church was over. I am anxious to get this swine flu vaccine in the worst way. Can adults even get it? Seems they're taking their sweet time on this one...Shane we will miss you terribly. We love you and at least are glad you're in a better place...RIP

I am sorry about your loss.

There are new cases of this flu popping out in my neighborhood now and it is starting to worry me.

So sorry. I remember the first thread you posted about his illness. He is surely beyond pain and illness now....

It's a strange bug. I know adults who have had it and got over it in a weeks time without major problems. It seems to run the range from mild to really serious in kids.
I'm not getting the vaccine though. There are just too many unanswered questions.
