I was just reading this on Scientific American Magazine about how the plastics additive Bisphenol or BPA is found in a wide range of canned foods with the highest amounts being found in soups and green beans including those labled ''BPA Free'' or Organic according to ''Consumer Reports''.
Just another reason to avoid processed foods as much as possible.
I've been using canned tomatoes about once a week. Some of the cans, I've noticed, have a white lining; I assume that this is the sort of can that has a lining with BPA. Other cans just look like plain metal on the inside. I was thinking that these cans did not have BPA, but I've read reports that say all cans have it.
