I haven't heard much about swine flu in months--and I haven't heard anything about the regular flu season either. We're at the end of January, which should be the height of seasonal flu--but you don't hear much about that. I went on vacation the first week of January, and everyone seemed to be coughing on the plane and in Florida--I guess it was colds and regular flu.

What are people's thoughts about regular seasonal flu this season? Seasonal flu season ends in March, so we only have a month or so left until it's over.

It has been a milder flu season this year, at least according to the statistics. But we are at the peak time, and remember that millions did indeed get vaccinated in time.

Here's a report on the flu season impact from the Washington Post with information on how some 150 cities are being tracked on Google.

And just because it is a mild season doesn't help the many who have come down with it.

Google flu trends is interesting. It surprises me that in January the flu incidence was so low, because when I was on vacation the first week in January, it seemed like everyone was sick. On the plane, everyone around me was hacking a horrible cough, and in Florida it also seemed like everyone was hacking and sneezing. I'm assuming they had the seasonal flu, or bad colds.
