The commercial starts as this:
Narrator: "The morning after your birth control has failed.............."
What?!
As the wife & I were watching the question came up; how do you know?
Aside from the dude going into the bathroom to dispose of the condom and hearing an "uh-oh" from behind the door can a woman really tell as soon as the next morning that she has conceived?
Does the woman know within the 72 hr grace period as well?
We don't have kids & my inquiring mind wants to know.

You don't know. It's a preventive measure to make sure conception doesn't take place.

What I don't understand is why the girls wait until the morning after it fails. Don't wait!! Go and get it NOW!!

Thanks. The way the commercial plays out it insinuates that women somehow 'know' the next morning.

Condom breaks = birth control FAIL. I think that's the point.

Though it didn't happen to us, BC pills can fail also as the wife's doc informed her she had been on BC for so long that she ran the risk of her body becoming immune and getting pregnant , hence the event that led me to getting the big 'V'.

It's not insinuating a woman knows she might be pregnant the next day, it's more about knowing that the condom broke or whatever.

If I were a heterosexual female, I'd just keep the morning at home. Sometimes pharmacists won't fill the prescription so instead of having to deal with some d-bag, I'd have it home.

At the same time, I think it's smarter to have an IUD and to insist the guy uses a condom. I know even with an IUD there is some chance for pregnancy but at least you're not having to take a bill everyday or insert a diaphragm (yuck).
