GENOA, Italy, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- People who have a health risk from smoking have an additional risk from breathing environmental tobacco smoke -- secondhand smoke -- researchers in Italy found.

Maria Teresa Piccardo, Anna Stella and Federico Valerio of the National Cancer Research Institute in Genoa, Italy, studied the exposure of newsagents in the city to harmful cigarette smoke.

People also have a greater risk from both industrial and petroleum based air pollutants but nobody say a darn thing about them or uses junk science to convince people that they are bad for your health.

It's better for people to ask why it is that all they hear ,or read,is about it how bad tobacco smoke is for them when the rest of the world is going to hell in a hand basket!

Who's grinding what ax for whom?

This tread , like all others, about tobacco shows very clearly that the general public don't know squat in the way of facts and knows alot about the propaganda that has been beat into their heads for the last 40 years.

A much hated dictator is credited for the saying..... If you tell a lie long enough ,loud enough and often enough it will become the truth in time.

This is a great description of the whole anti tobacco agenda of the last 40 years simply because the public doesn't know how to ask tough questions about much of anything.

There are hugh sums of tax monies lost every year from lost tobacco revenues. Those lost revenues have to made up somewhere so the burden is transfered to the very people who mouth the anti tobacco propaganda but those same people never understand that the pocket they pick is their own 'cause the anti tobacco lobby has thrown the cash cow tobacco under the bus.

And now we want to make mary jane legal to smoke! What the hell else is next!

Now THAT is really intelligent.

Your quote is much more apropos of what the TOBACCO lobby and manufacturers did for DECADES...

Cigarettes are safe....

Tobacco is not addictive....

Smoking isn't harmful.....

Sound familiar???

The whole "anti tobacco agenda" is based on FACTS and hard science....

The FACT is smoking kills.....plain and simple......

Tobacco IS the only product legally sold that if used as directed will lead to death and disability....

Please feel free to show some hard evidence, NOT sponsored by the tobacco industry, that shows otherwise....
