Hi i am trying to figure out about my hand. I thought I just slept on it, but it's been 4 days now and I'm concerned. I can barely move my fingers, and from the wrist to the end of my thumb there in numbness. Absolutely no pain, no tingling.

I can move wrist down fine, but can not lift hand whatsoever. No mechanism of injury for a break, no discoloration, and symptoms have not worsened. I went to the doctor and they said my nerve maybe dead but there were no signs up til it just stopped working. i dont have insurance and haven't been able to get any test done. Has anyone been through this.

I'm no Doctor (who you SHOULD be asking), but it sounds like a stroke to me.

Sounds like a classic radial nerve injury. You should find a neurologist.

I noticed your name is fibrochick, I guess you suffer from fibromyalgia. With your symptoms I would see a neuro. Could be MS. Seems like there is a large number of people who have fibromyalgia that are later dx with MS.

In a post on another thread you mentioned you take a cocktail of drugs for your conditions, i.e. fibromyalgia. I think it best to go back to your doctor and look into what is going on.

It's very common to have muscle inflammation pressing on a nerve in your neck or spine, that occurs a few days after doing some kind of repetitive motion, or sleeping 'wrong'. Can you recall doing anything like that a few days before it started? Of course it's best to see a doc & get tests just to make sure.. but if you don't have insurance (like most of us these days), maybe you should at least see another doc (or neuro doc) for a second opinion.. to give you a quick check for any signs of stroke, or other things. Just tell them you can't afford expensive tests but you still need their help. For now maybe try taking some aspirin (anti-inflammatory), maybe put a cold pack between your neck & spine to see if that helps.

The pinched radial nerve--what are they doing for it?

There's nothing to do for this. Tincture of time. It'll get better.
