UPDATE #2:

Okay, I went for my Doppler Scan today and thankfully NO BLOOD CLOTS. The tech did a doppler on my entire leg just to make sure and everything was crystal clear and smooth going.
WHEW!!!!

So now I just have to continue on the antibiotics and see my doc again for a follow up.

Thanks again to everyone for all the support, advice, and kind words!

Omigawd How did you get on at the doc's as I am experiencing exactly the same symptoms in Burton on Trent England. It was such a nice day yesterday i went out for a long walk with a friend and her dog. when I got home i had red hot swelling on both ankles. this morning they are still there, but the swelling has gone.
Cheers many thanks.

Well, today again I did a bunch of walking and the same thing happened. Discomfort, itching, bright red, warm, and a little tender. No numbness or swelling in the area or in the ankle, leg, or foot.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be??? I'm kind of scared since this never happened to me before. My docs office is closed until tomorrow afternoon so I can't even call him to ask about it.

HELP!!!!!!
*DING* What is a mosquito bite?

*Edit* Nevermind. It sounds like you actually found something serious. Cheers.
