I think I sleep too much at night ~ and from what I read online it's not healthy and shortens the lifespan

If there's nothing on TV that holds my attention, I'll fall asleep at around 9 pm and then don't wake up until 7 am ~ that's 10 hours of sleep. I feel good and am healthy ~ but the experts say that's too much sleep

ANY COMMENTS ? HOW MUCH SLEEP is enough for you to function optimally ??

I cat nap, maybe two to three hours at a time. I'll do that for months and then suddenly start sleeping like a bear in winter for anywhere from a few nights to weeks--not continuous, of course. I hate it. I used to sleep well--anytime, anyplace. LOL

I fall asleep around 12-12:30am and get up at 6:30-7:00.

On weekends I usually fall asleep around 2am and wake up naturally (no alarm) 8:30-9:00ish.

If I don't set an alarm, I will sleep 8-9 hours. If I sleep less than 7, I am sluggish all day.

How can more sleep harm you? That's not what I read. I read in Lights Out by T.S. Wiley that it is actually good to sleep a lot three seasons out of the year (fall, winter and spring). 8-10 hours is fine. You could sleep more than that and be in perfectly good shape imo. I am not a doctor but I feel my best when I sleep a lot. Sleep resets all the chemicals like cortisol. The reason so many people are fat these days is because of elevated cortisol due to a lack of sleep. How could anyone be anti sleep? Sounds like bull to me. Read Lights Out and decide for yourself.

No wonder you feel good and healthy.

I try at least 7 hours of sleep, and my schedules are way too tight

I sleep 7.5 - 8 hours every night, with perhaps 2 exceptions per year.

If I get less sleep like 6 or 7 hours I have alot of energy.

Of course after a couple of days I do need that 8 to 9 hour night to get back.

I like the energy though
